boston college is great, i'm likely going there next year. it's actually located in newton, just outside the city. only downsides are its really expensive and no on campus parking (i'll miss my 7thgen, renting a spot in the city is too expensive). great sports teams, they'll be in the ACC next year.

depends.. what are you going for? Bing. is very clicky and if you transfer in, it'll be hard to get into a group because everyone is very tight there.. They have 2 worlds.. one where everyone stays in and studies all day, and the other is out and party all day.. not much in between.. All the TA's are your professors and all your professors don't speak english... that's was my interpretation of Binghamton (SUNY)

boston college is a christian or catholic affiliated...so be prepared for that sort of environment. im not totally sure, but there might be mandatory prayer and stuff like that. but they have a good sports program, and right in the center of boston, so its a fun time. ive hung around the areas where BC is, because my college was right next door pretty much, and theres lots of bars and fun things to do.

dont know about binghamton.

I've visited both..

Binghamton is VERY cliquey. If you don't know people there already its going to be really hard to find a group. There are alot of asain cliques too that don't let non-asain kids in their groups. Lots of parties up there, + bars. I had a great time partying up there.

BC is expensive, but you can't beat the experience of living in a city. You need to have a high GPA to transfer there, just getting in is hard enough.

Boston = The ultimate college town

i went to northeastern, and had a great time. so much to do, newbury street, the red sox, faniuel hall, the north end....the list goes on. BC is Catholic affliated but its not so much that it controls your school life. i went to concerts at BC and parties its a great school. one downside is that is all the way at the end of the "B" line on the T (subway). probably a 30-35 minute ride, depending on time of day from downtown Boston, but then again Boston itself as a city is very small. i love boston, cant beat it!

i was down there for the 1st pats win

absolute nuts. cars were being flipped, i walked down bolyston and a city bus drove by with about 15 hammered kids on the roof. we skipped class to go to the parade. incredible.

boston is a great college town....IF you can get there, and IF you know where to go and who to go with. i went to babson college (its in wellesley, next to newton) and just outside of boston. but getting into the city to actually do anything was a hassle. getting to the subeay/train recquired a car in itself, so most of the time we ended up not going off campus...and that gets old REAL quick.

so, thats just a warning. i would seriously go for a visit and ask questions. dont trust just the weekend you spend there where your hosts party you up and make you think that its like that all the time.

and also, it depends on what kind of atmosphere you like. if youre a NYC type, you will probably get bored of boston really quick...i did. nothing is open past 9. clubs stop serving alcohol at 1am. good luck finding any food besides IHOP after 9 or 10pm. landsdown street is fun for a while, but its all the same international kids partying at avalon or whatever...the clubs really arent that great.

ok...so perhaps im a little bitter still, but i just dont want you to think that boston is THE BEST college town EVAR. if you have a choice, id transfer to somewhere in CA. warm weather, beaches, HOTTTT girls.

getting into the city from BC is not an issue at all, there's a T stop right on campus, so no driving required.
