touching the chrome isnt the prob... its getting the factory black sealer off that you accidentally smudge on there ! .... tip rubbing achohol and patinets work wonders !
exactly. but i have eyelids so the smudge is covered now.
broke a gauge cluster, almost couldn't put timing belt back on the cam gear, shorted out wires and made sparks, dropped screws in the engine bay, started car without cam sensor plugged in, shocked myself with a neon that was plugged in, etc.

i was installing a satellite radio antenna (SSM antenna from the accord) on my trunk lid. as i was "drilling out" the hole for it, the drill slipped out and i put about a 2 1/2" scratch on my trunk lid...ooops. i know its not that bad but it pissed me off!!!

i dropped a bolt in my engine bay @8pm and didnt care i do it all the time. the next morning on the way to work i put my car into 2nd gear and it wanted to run. i had to turn it off coast into a parking lot and found the bolt in the throttle pulley.

The only DIY i've screwed up on was clearing my turn signals (on an El). Took me about five different tries to get it right. Had to cut out lucite and mold it to fit onto the turn signal housing and then use that AutoGoop stuff to make it stick and create a seal around the edge. It was tough to clamp it right the first time without the black AutoGoop smearing everywhere.
bigged freaggin screw up, breaking those damn flimsy clips that hold that dash together, everytime i pull it out, the clips fall inside therefore, i must pull it out with extra clips, or if u break the actual plastic part its over, I did that to my stock under pocket but got new ashtray set that got rid of the pocket. just watch out when u move any interior parts such as pillar, door panel, dash, etc, because they are all held by flimsy clips//
I hooked up my LED neons and put positive to negative and fried all of my streetglow equipment: Inside neons and controler and LED outside
Ordered a new controler begining of summer still waiting for it.
So far my worst mistake was buying M3 mirros and actually wasting a day to wire them and finish the install off; only to hate how the mirrors are crap and useless.
