wow, thats nothing I set my car on fire, beat that boys..

I did a quick install of a crappy wiring kit when I first got my car and it came with some of those really crappy fuses that u need to solider, so I said, screw it ill do it later. Well almost 2 years goes by and Im installing a cap, I got the terminals on it all made and stuff and my mom tells me I gotta go pick someone up for her as a fav, well I stepped out of the car to leave some tools in the tool box not thinking about shorting out the terminals. They kinda unrolled cuz they were twisted and touched each other. EVERYTHING went up in smoke ! all the panels where the wire was running set everything a flame including the carpet underneth, thank god by x-gf was there to help me. As I super humanly unscrewed the neg term under the hood, she started unwinding the hose. Still thinking that my car is gonna blow up, i jump in with smoke everything, chocking on it, and cant even see. I drop the car in N and push it out. Got the hose and went crazy with it,I think I got everything wet in my car.
End result, seats went to the garbage, well not really i got them relinned with some custom vinyl, I got new wires for the system(fused it this time), side trim is still messed up but you really can't tell. Ill post pics when i get my car back from the autobody shop. burned a shit load of wires around the hole where the wire ran in the firewall. Car was off so nothing else shorted out there.

other mishaps:
  • burning pants, fingers, desk doing DIYs with soldering iron
  • lost stuff under the hood
  • screwed up one of my headlights while clearing them, kinda fogs but its not that bad.I also scratched them when a friend and I were changing some stuff around, i put them on fiberglass sheets cuz i thought it would be soft, bad idea.
  • messed up my TYCs, I wasn't really looking while adjusting the lense and well over adjusted and messed that up, ill post pics. Just needs a repaint and a nice retrofit for my HIDs
  • not to my car, but i was screwing in some door speakers when the screw driver slipped, you can guess what happened there. I didnt say anything to the girl and just closed up grill. It was only a small whole where the rubber is if remeber correctly
  • cut many body parts, then forgot/did not notice i was bleeding and bleed everywhere.
  • when putting vinyl on the door panels i think i didnt set the clips properly cuz my auto down doesn't work anymore
  • i think i blew some fuses somewhere, i have yet to check that out cuz my cruse, mirror, sunroof lights are not lite up anymore.
  • next biggest boo boo, changing pads and on the pass side i was turning the bolt the wrong way some how, well bolts went to the trash, the housing for the caplier went to a machine shop and they got it re-threaded, that saved me $$
  • took off some clearcoat when removing the si(ex) emblem, other ones went fine.. i got the car used so i think the dude crazy glued it on or something.
  • burn my self on the exhaust when changing my oil.
I think thats it folks, there will always be problems but we learn with trial and error. Now i know soo much more about my car, and Im not afraid of DIYs because I expect problems, so I prepare for them.

it just drops to idle. I'm lucky that I was on a downhill and could control braking and steering or I would have surely been a hazard to others

On my last Accord, I totally rebuilt the engine. She was a thing of beauty. Too bad I totally forgot to install the OIL PUMP!!

Well, I did catch it before it was too late. Just had to take half the engine apart again.

Oh.... and the list goes on. The most recent would involve a set of "OEM" ebay fogs.

Had my Golf mk1 fall off of its axle stands onto me once.

Had it in a bench press for what seemed like hours but was really just 5 mins, till my brother came out to see what I was shouting about.
He was such a stoner back then though just stood there and says 'what you doing?' After some bad werdz he got the idea and jacked the car up.

Really glad it was was a little mk1 a new golf(or my civic)would have squished me.

Went to the gymn the next week and my bench press was up by about 50%.

installing my RSR but didnt know it came with gasket adn bolts so I used whatever I had lying around. Bad mistake, after driving towards work(25 miles) the exhaust note got louder and ricier and I was like "damn it, RSR sux!"
until I pulled over and saw the the bolts that connected midpipe to muffler were coming loose and the midpipe on its way out. Next day, I used the right bolts.

i was putting in a billet aluminum lower grill on my car and i got the fog grilles in easy than i noticed that u have to take the bumper off to put the center grille on, but i didnt feel like it so i took my dads pocket knife and cut out the stock grill than i drilled holes into the bumper and zip tied it in, held up about 3 weeks till i went to the car wash and as i watching it go through i noticed the grille hanging so i ripped it out cause i pissed, went home drilled new holes than used liquid nail to secure it in place but let me tell you that grille is not going anywhere lol, the excess liquid nail is all gone now so it looks goodbut when i do the upper grille i sure am gonna take off the bumper
