Becasue this is a forum u r supposed to ask questions, even if u search half the time what you are looking for doesn't come up anyway. As for me i would take the civ type r over the ITR, oh how much HP does the ITR have now?
I say CTR over ITR. Its real close because the ITR is super pimp, but theres just something about the CTR...maybe cause its soooo cute!
actually, you know what would be raw? A new hatch(say maybe an si) with an engine swap done with the ITRs new motor. CTR=200 hp I think and ITR=217hp if Im not mistaking

About 30 HP extra in Japan, not sure about the UK, but JDM ITR=227HP stock. And I hear they respond VERY well to mods.
*taken from the Acura RSX section with a few edits*
This is just what I think....
How we'll get an RSX Type R:
6th Gen Civic: 96, 97, 98, 99, 00
3rd Gen Integra: 94, 95, 96, 97, 98, 99, 00, 01
7th Gen Civic: 01, 02 4th Gen Integra (RSX): 02, 03
Notice a pattern? The bold #s are when the high performance models of the cars came out.
For the previous generation of the Civic and Integra, after 3 years of production we got the Civic Si, and the Integra Type R.
This generation we get the new Civic Si in the 7th Gen Civic's 2nd year.
Don't you think the same would be for the RSX?
Besides, Honda will not succeed with their top sport compact cars being the Civic Si and the RSX Type S... especially with the Si. It surprises me to hear that a dealer still holds 5 new Si's. If it was the Integra/Civic Type R, considered those cars consumed by a real Honda enthusiast.
If the RSX Type R makes it here, it'll be $2,000 more than the Type S... at least that's how it was with the last GS-R and the Integra Type R. I expect it to be at $25,000 at the least. For an improved version over the older models, it's worth it... maybe even at $26,000. The Type S starts at $23,500+, which was more than an old Integra Type R! (I guess because from the power #s it looks faster than the Type R... suckas! The ITR will run circles around am RSX Type S!)
Why no Civic Type R:
I don't expect us to get a Civic Type R and I wouldn't care if it came... I'd prefer the RSX. Honda would have to cut the Civic Si from the USDM market, and once they do that, no one would ever want an Si if the Type R replaced it... I wouldn't see anything wrong with that of course... BUT, the Si is here to keep the Civic from just looking like a super 4-cylinder car when it's reputation is guided towards the AVERAGE consumer who looks for reliablity. (But can also be a "decent" sport compact.) The Civic Type R could potentially ruin the Civic's reputation here and Honda might end up cutting it from lack of sales cuz no one would see the Civic as reliable but just a purebred Honda ricerocket. Leave the Type R to the Integra... it's succeeded before as Honda's top sport compact in the market and Honda will do it again.
I'm just waiting for the news from Acura for the sophmore Type R.

wait wait..you guys are confusing me with terminology...
what is an ctr, itr???
why is the type r gonna be a hatchback...they're not as cool looking
as the sedan version....well at least in my opinion...
CTR = Civic Type R
ITR = Integra Type R
The Civic Type R has always been a hatchback because generally hatchbacks are lighter than coupes/sedans. A lighter car would = faster, better controlled car.
There is actually an Integra Type R 4-door in Japan.
There's even the Accord Type R, too. (4-door)
Oh, and there is a Civic Type R 4-door hatch, too.
