Another One Bites The Dust (Wrecked my Civic.)

Well, I'm not sure what i want more.. my car to be totalled, or to get it fixed and have a car that was totally tore up.. and never know what's going to go wrong. Basically, the front end of the car was crushed. It's dropped on sportlines, with 2000 SI wheels (painted black with "h" and lip left silver) on some low profile pirelli's, Hp racing 4-1 header/w cat, AEM pullies, AEM CAI, magnaflow midpipe with resonator removed and green anodized apex'i N1 muffler. All these things will be for sale if i find out my car is totalled. So, keep in touch. I basically rear ended the guy, because he decided to slam on his brakes as i was changing lanes. I know it's my fault either way.. but because my car was so low it smashed through the grill, shattered both lights, and crushed the whole front end. Most of the motor seems to be in tact, but my radiator was sitting horizontally on top of the motor. The wheels are in perfect shape, but not for sale, no windows are cracked... no airbags deployed. So if you guys would like to give your feed back on if you think it's totalled, i'd appreciate it. Who knows, maybe it'll get fixed. THIS SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!! sorry to say but the way it sounds theres not going to be frame damage since it took out your front body panels and pulled your radiator out of place. no frame damage on a car that has no damage done to the engine usually means to insurance that they will fix it. unless you got a hookup with the insurance rep and get them to help ya out, your gonna be gettin back a used and abused civic in about 2 months...

Well, i'm not sure about the frame damage either.. i can't open either door on either side all the way. The fenders are like overlapping the doors.

Hey if it is, I'm not switching to RSX or subaru like many have. I'm a Honda lover. I'll probably get a 6th gen si.. wishfull thinking anyway. If it's not totalled i'll be happy if they fix it.. and fix it right.

Check w/ your ins. company on if they let you bring it to the dealer to get fixed. My ins. will allow me to do that regardless of what it costs, they will just get an estimate and approve it. At least at a dealer you have qualified techs and the right OEM parts and paint to do the job right. Taking it to a body shop is probably a bad idea. A new car they haven't worked on before, hard to find parts, etc.

I dont know man, it sounds like it could go either way right now. I guess the rule of thumb for this stuff is if the damage is going to cost 75%+ of the cars MSRP. Thats what they told me when I rolled mine. But in the end they put it all back together and I am back on the road and modding again and damm happy to be.
Right now I have a 2001 Blazer while they are sending my rims away to be refinished. I cant wait for my car to be done.
Good Luck man, keep us updated.
