Hey everyone i just bought my 99 EX and looked at the engine look good but im not likeing the intake mannafold or the header guard they both look like poop!!! so my idea is i went to honda asked them about a new "STOCK" intake mannafold (im still underwarrenty) they said it would be 160 plus tax so im thinking ok go home went to speed people (there not that bad after all) got my AEM intake i ordered it yesterday i get it friday so now i think it would just be best to get the new "stock" mannafold get a new header guard thing and also get a new valve cover then install everything includeeing my AEM cold air intake and header guard and mannafold also my APEXI N1 Exhaust and everything will look great what are your Opinion?
ps if this is a dumb idea please don't write hate replys thank you

ahh, I got chya....It's all good......
instead of a heatshield to cover up your stock headers, why don't you get some aftermarket headers that are stainlees, or ceramic coated and look cool......then everything would look great.....especially the valve cover....
peace, Trevor

Now that we got that cleared up....
I think the AEM is the right choice. But what confuses me is I can't tell if you are going for looks, or performance. If you are going for engine bay looks, why get an exhaust or header? On the same hand, if you are going for performance with the exhaust and AEM intake, why do you care if your intake manifold has spots on it?
personally, I'd screw the spots, and spend the 160 bucks on something that will lead toward performance.
Would I would recommend is taking off the manifold and spending the 160 toward a work on the throttle bottle (maybe a bigger one altogether) and a port&polish on the manifold itself. I am sure you can get the manifold cleaned. Can you post a pic?
No need to buy a new manifold. Try cleaning it first and if that doesn't work, get it polished or something. But there's no reason to buy a new manifold, I don't think there is @least.
Either get a aftermarket header or just chrome out the stock heatshield or whatever. But don't run your car w/ the stock headers and no heatshield.
As far as the valve cover, I say chrome it out too or just clean it up. I don't really like painted valve covers.
