if trade in is not possible then i have to suggest on waiting for a reliable engine swap with an rsx type s, then you can get the 6 speed tranny.... since you need to swap tranny anyways.
oh yeah and i'm not saying a k20a swap has been done yet (its in progress from the looks of another post) so lets not make this a "swap flame" thread
if you know someone that works in places liek sequoa, car repair institute, they can do it for free!!! i kno couple of friends that work there and can get credit for working on my car!

i actually was leaning toward a swap anyway, maybe someone could inform me a little bit on a few things
1) where can you buy the engine from?
2) if i could buy it would i be able to get it financed or would i need all the $ up front
3) can't you sell your vic engine (i have ex low miles) to make up for a little
4) how much would labor be
I heard if you want to switch your automatic into a manual it will cost at least 5000 dollars. And some people just say, you might as well get a new car. I'm in the same situation as well, but just think that automatic is more reliable then manual.
I WAS in the same boat, but when i got my civic, i had to wait 3 months for them to ship a 2dr dx manual, (Jan 2001) and i didn't want to wake up at 4am to BUS to work for 3 months so i settled for the 4dr dx auto which was all they had.
But after i saved up a lil $$ now i got myself a ....5speed P5!!
theres someone around from where i live that drives a 2k1 lx(i think) auto. and he told me that he's gettin the tranny swap for 400-700bucks. i duno if he's BS'in me or if its true. but im ganna get the number from him soon and call em up myself and ask
