Rep Power: 0 the guy wgo built this specific car is a moderator on clubsi. his previous car was the same year and model as this (92 civic hatch). He had a B16A2 running 18PSI on pump gas for over 2 years without a problem (pumping it to over 26PSI on race gas), all with stock internals. Remember the B18B ebgine here is not only bigger, it also has a lower more boost friendly compression ratio.

Rep Power: 0 BTW, he spent a grand total of ~13,000 for the car, parts and labor.
Also I believe that the topic of this thread is "This is why I hate body kits..."
Yea. Think about that.

Rep Power: 0 you are such a dumba$$....congrats, that's the 1,000,000th 11 second sleeper for under 10G's i've seen in the last year, what the f*ck is your point? besides trying to prove to us that you're the god of the proper way to build your civic.....you're the same as those people you call "ricers", you're just on the other side of the spectrum....you'll never realize that a great car is built up of nothing more or less than what the builder likes....and your bitc*ing about this part, and that part, is getting really boring.......

Rep Power: 0 I have to agree with Joe on this one. I would take that car over any riced out car anyday. And hopefully in the near future there will be a 92-95 hatch sitting in front of my house.

hold up this is getting personal here. Joe, that car is sweet, not arguing with that at all, and it is really fast, but a lot of people like the looks of body kits, big rims (nobody should like altezzas). The point is we shouldn't flame one another because we are at opposite ends of the aftermarket spectrum. We need to respect both interests.
As for me, All show, no go.

I love what you did...Only reason I would never do that to my ride is cause I would get myself into loads of trouble with speed like that at my disposal...
Some people want speed...fine...some looks...fine...some portions of each...we are all just modding in our own particular taste...I will give u that I have not seen a project like that in awhile...But I only ask don't be so brash to call people "morons" who make their 7th gen's look nice...I know my car is slow...but it's nice looking...dependable...and most importantly for my lifestyle...AFFORDABLE...
I'm not intending to make a arguement of this...but there isn't a need to disrespect us who don't build under 12 sec cars...
I'm done...

Rep Power: 0 - hey that car reminds me of my cousins' hatch. they have a sleeper. its only running thirteens though. man, i love sleepers. its nice to pull up next to a v8 camaro or stang, and see them in awe as a little HB or crx crushes them. haha.
- i don't have a problem with body kits, or altezzas as long as they are done with at least decent taste. i mean, who would want to attract attention to a slow car.

Rep Power: 0 Talking to a friend at Eastside muffler today here in Plamdale which also does custom turbos and engine swaps. He drives a 12 second GST with 20 psi of boost, looking nearly stock except for of course, the muffler and a Jack antenna ball. As well as a second Eclipse fixed up for show. Nothing wrong with having one of each.

Rep Power: 0 i am tempted to build a 5th gen civic hatch hybrid as a project car. it's an incredible set-up. the only thing that turns me off is that it is a civic. it is not meant to be a 300hp beast.. lol. (not that i wouldn't WANT one.. but i want to also be unique.)
when i get the cash, i think my modded car is gonna be a mob-style 50's sedan with suicide doors.

So much for the 7th gen Civic! It's either show, or go. Just cuz your car is all fixed up on the outside does NOT mean it should be fast - that is in my opinion. Not everyone has the money to take a car and keep it nice so that it's sole purpose is show (by making every part of the car look like a jewel... and it's not used as a daily driver to maintain it's quality.) It's easier to make an old car faster than to make it truly show worthy.
Joe posted this thread because this is what he likes. In this thread, just like anyone else would, he's telling everyone what he likes and doesn't like. Simply that. If you don't like it, a huge well thought out overreaction is pointless. I don't see how lil' sh't gets to some of you guys. It's just people's own acquired taste... fOO.
VERY nice sleeper BTW.

Rep Power: 0 The age old "does painting an IC reduce its effectiveness" question. This is 1 that is never answered with much authority or anything to back it up. I personally do not know, having heard that it doesnt matter and it hurts a little. SInce this guy has been building 12,11 and 10 second sleepers for years now, im going to say that if it does hurt something, its not enough to matter.
