Well, for months I've been pretty psyched up about getting a 7th Gen Civic and I was gonna get one, till this deal came across... Long story short, I used to have a 93 Cavalier Z24, I sold it to my bro, but now HE's buying another car, so now I'm buying it back from him... With the trade in of the car I have now(which I'm actually trading in for his car, if you're still following me), I'm getting the Z24 back for only $500. That's where the main problem falls with the 7thGen, the $$$. Anyways, the car is pretty sweet, not the prettiest or most reliable(Chevy), but I like it a lot and I can't pass this deal up... It's a 3.1L and has 185lb/ft of torque, which is what makes it pretty awesome esp with stick, which is very rare in this model. For any of you that care, which probably isnt many, here's a pic (he's probably using bleach i'll admit, but he's runnin an automatic in that pic..)
ANYWAYS, some final words... Thanks to all you guys, learned SO much about cars here on this site! Also, if/when an 8thGenCivic.com site comes around, keep a lookout for me cause I'll most likely purchase one (I'll be able to afford one then as I'll be outa school in 2005) PLAY NICE EVERYONE

I'm sure we'll all hate em! 7thgencivic.com will be like any other honda forum is for us. Full of hate. with regards to the 8thgens at least. or maybe D will monopolize and make an 8thgencivic.com, and keep the slogan "out with the old, in with the new"
wait maybe I really didnt follow... bought back the same old ass car you sold to your bro .. with the car you bought by selling the z24 in the first place + you gave him 500? hmm....
Anywaz good luck.. if you can ever save up enoughmoney for a civic.. they are great cars an I love mine.. workin on the slow part
Basically, I wanted to sell the Z24 only for the reason of gas mileage(only gets around 20mpg). When I decided to get another car, my brother was just getting licensed so I sold it to him so I could get a more economical car. I found a really cheap Geo Tracker which I thought would save money on gas, well, it got 20mpg too THAT car was/is a piece of sh*t, obv, and I wish I would've realized that from the start... I deserve to be laughed at for the Tracker. Anyways, now I'm sick of the Tracker obv, and my bro is getting a 96 Grand Am GT. SO, he's using the Tracker for a trade-in, I'm getting his Z, and he's getting the Grand Am. Therefore, I'm paying the Tracker's trade-in value + $500 cash. That's how I'm getting the Z24 for $500. I understand that a 93 Chevy Cavalier Z24's quality doesn't even come close to a 2k1 Civic, HOWEVER, right now for the kind of money I'm spending, I'm willing to sacrafice a little refinement for the feeling of getting my head thown back when I step on it I always have and always will respect Honda, it's just that money is the primary factor in this situation.
88-91 crx: $500
b16a1 installed: $3000
Honda reliable mid 14's car with 40mpg : $3500
my cousin in law had the 93 with the v6...he liked the power but it was the most unreliable car he had...car leaked when it rained, a/c died, radio has strange malfunction, blown headgasket (engine rebuild), rear wheel bearing failure almost killing him..and these are just what I can remember...he traded it in on a 2000 z28 and has had it in the shop at least 3 times a year for warranty problems...he's getting rid of it when the warranty is up

first of all, I doubt that the b16a1 can get 40mpg I'd say mid 30's if you're lucky, remember, we're not talking the HX engine here... CRX for $500?? maybe if it's got so much rust i need a tetenus shot to drive it....
Second, the Z24 has been in our ownership for 1 1/2 yrs now and the only thing it ever needed was new tires and an oil change. Otherwise it's like we just drove it new off the lot. Even if stuff ever goes wrong with it, Dad runs the service department at a GM dealership, so he can get baically anything repaired for EXTREMELY cheap if not for free
Like I said before, I don't hate Honda's, I like them a lot. I'm also not the typical street racer that either hates domestics or hates import, I like them both. Don't hate me just cause I found another car.. that's a domestic. Although I'm definately not claiming this is a Z28 or Mustang 5.0, drive some Detroit muscle and you'll have an idea why I like this car better than any 4-banger
