Clearing out headlights this weekend

Clearing out headlights this weekend

need alittle help, in the DIY it says to use a clear silicone, is that the silicone adhesive?
like the stuff i can buy at autozone?

i am also painting the inside (white) to match car

You mean you're painting the chrome insert white? That sounds awesome.

Yeah, just make sure whatever you get is CLEAR SILICONE. Don't settle for less, or any other imitation. Stay away from GOOP. It may come clear but it's not silicone, though it's known as a clear sealer. GOOP will also f'ck up your headlight lens. Just something you should look out for. If you need help clearing headlights, you can send me a PM as I've done it so many times.

be prepare to spend at least 3 hours trying to get the headlights open. i tried it for 3 hours. but i give up and put everything back.

Umm...if you paint the chrome insert be prepared to have like NO headlight beam. But if you're talking about painting just the thin chrome pieces separating the headlight from the park/signal lights like some members have done on this site (only in black), it should look alright. of course i'll put up pix! but the weather is killing me! it is raining all weekend here. it has rained every weekend for like a month and a half now!!! next weekend i won't be able to do it cause i am going away for a golf weekend with a buddy of mine. so mid april looks like the ticket. i am painting just the chrome around the lights, like some of the members have done in black.
