Re: How much have you spent on your civic?
So I just bought a 2009 civic Si and G35's are passing when I try to overtake them except they overtake me and cuts me off and slows down. Whats a way to make my Si faster? Its already at 300HP with my mods and stuff. Ive spent over 8000 in mods on my car. Someone help!!!

I just got done reading many of the replies.
I am amazed that someone would pay $14K for a car...............
..........and put an ADDITIONAL $14K in upgrades.
It seems crazy to me that a person would go to work/get a paycheck/and spend the money on.......stuff.
Then I got thinking............
Other people golf, have a boat, fish, sno ski, collect stuff, work on their house....
And they drop a ton of money on those things..............
My conclusion is that it's just gotta be a car thang...........mattandchris
$240.00 for titanium lug nuts!.....................really?

i try to prioritize my money as well as i can; but my passion for cars always gets the best of me. you're right, it's a car thing. whatever car one might love, that's what they will buy and modify as they see fit, as i am in the slow process of. i saw on your profile you own a 2010 lx coupe, nice. my car is a 94 and i'm sure you spent a lot more than me; if i put all the money you spent on your car into my car just think of how sweet my ride would be! you could sell your car, give me the money and i will do it! let me know! lol but seriously i (and i'm sure many others) love to mod their cars a well as do many other things like fish, golf (frisbee), 4 wheel, collect and so on. i love cars, but i do many other things as well as sped money on. oh ya, 240 for lug nuts is crazy tho..
headers: megan headers 150
"high flow" cat: 100
flowmaster 60 series: 120
exhaust tip: 30
rims and tires: 350 (got a deal)
lugnuts for rims: 30
cd player, sub, amp, and box: 250
lip kit: 300 or so.. overpaid i know.. (not installed and i might sell tho)
plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter: 70
headlights: 80 i think
taillights: 50

if i die tomorrow, i will be glad that i own (or owned) and drive a car that i love; including time and money spent.
p.s. you sound kinda like a nagging wife that may be in my future? lol i hope not!

nice! hook it up with a link lowlife; i want these lugs! or you could just tell me where you park your car
i like the 60 series. if you look on the website it has a "moderate" sound rating, compared to the 40 which is "aggressive". nice tone but not too loud. if you want it loud with the 60, you could remove the resonator, or leave it on to reduce the rice. i always heard of people using 40 series and so on with v8's, and 60 series are for 4 and 6 cylinders. but after looking on youtube i saw some civics with the 40; wow that's a burner! lol so IMO, i like the 60 much more than the 40 from what i've heard. i just want to get an 80 series for my caddy now

Just saw this thread, browsing through the topics. Wow. I'm guessing $20,000 to $25,000, over the past 13 years. I need another hobby or a new project car.

$1700 for car.
$300 for tune up, timing belt, and some little things.
$200 for mods
$2200 so far, but that does not account for the labor I have put in. I did all of the work myself.
Mods:
Tachometer $65
header $60
short throw shifter $10
paint $15
Stereo install stuff (with component speakers) $150
Second battery $100
Bung hole emulator $15

Re: How much have you spent on your civic?
Recently took 97 honda civic ex for new timing belt and water pump at honda dealership. Normally would do work myself or local mechanic, but this job was not. Had $100 coupon in mail for $100 bucks off, quoted final cost of $505. Left at dealership for day. They called while working on car and said my valve cover gasket was leaking and recommended fixing for another $140. I reluctantly agreed cause was college sons car and it had been leaking oil for awhile. Then hour later, dearship called and tells me radiator has significant leak on bottom, needs fixed. How much, I ask? $425 MORE, $175 for radiator With $250 labor. Service writer said will save me money cause many parts already off car... (yeah right). I reluctantly agree, but this time call Advance Auto for radiator cost, Their cost is only $52.00 for radiator. I call back dealership and cancel radiator repair only to hear them respond, geez, not sure I can cancel that order. I puck up car later that day, to be told oil leak is fix, timing belt and water pump replaced, but, by the way, your radiator only had very small leak in top rt. Corner, not bottom like I said earlier. Yeah, he just wanted to let me know. Had car at my local mechanic 2 weeks layer to see oil running down motor as always. Apparently they had wiped oil off engine when I picked it up. I find out valve cover gasket never did leak, it was head gasket, which was never brought up during repair. My question is.... Do you have to remove valve cover gasket to change timing belt and water pump??? As you can tell, I am very unhappy with this repair and believe they racked me extra cash for valve cover gasket they may of had to take off in first place, continue severe oil leak and lied too about location and severity of radiator leak. I called and complained to know avail, but didn't know about continued oil leak till recently. Above all, I have I 4 honda civics in my driveway. Enough said!
