Ground control spring popping

This is a double post, be forewarned. The thread I posted in vehicle issues isn't getting any exposure because people only go there when they have a problem. So....I did a search, couldn't find the answer to the problem. My GC coilovers are making a popping noise. I know there were a few threads on this a couple months ago, but again, can't find them. I know someone came up with a solution for the springs popping, so if anyone remembers or has fixed this problem, please enlighten me. It's annoying as hell to hear them pop half the time I try to turn. To remove this ad, register today for free or log in if already registered!

that happened when i first installed my GC coilovers...the problem should be the front 2 spring when turning rite? the solution is that there is a stock part (a black round thingy) that was supposed to be kept there..it's supposed to prevent the springs from moving or poping in your case...
so just put that stock part back on...hope this helps

The only real solution is to do what 3rdcivic did to his GC's. You should PM him and hell help you out.

I have had my Ground Controls for about 4-5 months now & I have never had any sort of "popping" noise when I turn or any other time. I'm guessing it must be an incorrect installation that leads to the "popping" noise.

2 questions.

1) Did you do the install yourself? If not, when the person that did do the install use an air wrench to tighten the strut back down?

2) Is it cold there? Its cold over here and when it gets cold my springs make popping noises. It will go away when it gets warm.
