More power to you NYCIVIC. I hope you get the problem resolved. One other thing you can do is take it to another dealer.
In my opinion Honda has basically lost its edge. And unfortunately people like you and I have to suffer for their screw ups.
I don't quite understand why so many of these cars are having problems. This is the first time I have ever heard of Hondas giving this much problems. There will always be a few lemons, but clearly this quite shameful to a reputable car company like Honda.
As far as I am concerned, Ronin, you are a complete and utter fool. I bet if the roles were reversed you would be feeling basically the same way others are feeling towards their civic. So to keep it simple! Eat Sh___t and die.
Peace!

I am still happy with my 2002 LX Sedan. The rattles are driving me up the wall but come spring im gonna take it to honda and tell em not to give it back to me until the rattles are fixed... These are the joys of warranty - which is 90% of the reason i went for a 'new' car. I'm driving around in a stockmobile, and plan on keeping it that way so my warranty stays well intact. I have 7 years of yummy warranty coming to me.. and for as completely car-stupid I am, that is a very nice comfort.
As for the frequency of service... nothing i've come accross is annoying enough or horrid enough to stop the car from running... My ex-coworkers 2001 jeep stopped running almost every other week. She'd tow it to the dealer every time, and major things could be replaced... the transmission was replaced 2x, and plenty of other large ticket items were replaced... I'm very glad those aren't the kind of problems going on with my car. Right now I have interior rattles.. and a weird burning brakes smell which according to honda, there wasn't anything wrong with it, but they did replace the brake assembly (couldve been the drum, im REALLY not with it when it comes to car parts) just to be on the safe side.
Did i pay anything for being on the safe side? not a dime. ahhh I love warranty... they also washed my car 2x, once when i took it in, once when they replaced those parts. the Honda dealers around here are always friendly and so far I've had the best of politeness from both of them.

Let's see, so far 1 or 2 people have agreed with what you have said. Yup, yup... that CERTAINLY proves that Honda has lost its edge. Check this thread too: link and pay special attention to Blah's post. If you're looking for a Honda-haters support group, you've come to the wrong place. The vast majority of people on this site, and elsewhere, including myself, are more than satisfied with their Civics.
And as for my car, I've had more rattles than I could count, and just today, I had a blown front strut replaced by my dealer (like Brill said, that's what warranties are for). But unlike you, I have more realistic expectations about what comes from car ownership, especially an economy car like the Civic, Honda or no Honda.
So you got a lemon... well guess what, they do exist, and you happened to get one. Deal with it.
So you hate Honda and won't buy another car from them... big freakin' deal. Every car maker has it's group of haters. You're nothing new. And it's not like Honda is going to miss you.
So why don't you take that bottle of "whine" of yours, and go spread some cheese for other people at a Suzuki site or something. And take that POS Samurai with you.
Hey Ronin? Wasn't us giving your country a "pity" gold medal enough? be grateful and shut up. Now tell your boys that they really need to "focus" in on car assembly!

Don't you mean 2 pity gold medals?
As for the car assembly, like speedy said, us Canadian can't follow directions ... so you're pretty much outta luck
(..... but I wonder if it's cuz we learned from you Americans? )
I am coming into this catfight with clean hands, so nycivic, I want to correct some things of yours AND agree with some things. First of all, the side aribag light is supposed to go on and off when an occupant is in the path of it, where they would not get proper protection from it or possibly be harmed by it. Yes, the light is kinda funny, I think it doesn't really need a light for this, but it's not broken. Also, unless you have recently crashed your Civic, you have not felt the pretensioners. A lot of people think that when a seatbelt goes tight that those are pretenstioners. WRONG! All seatbelts do this, my dad's 1983 BMW did this...before pretenstioners were invented. What you are feeling I believe are called intertia reels. Pretensioners are small explosive charges that tense up a seatbelt upon impact to prevent submarining (sliding under the seat).
Now, about grade logic...what is there to say...it sucks. It has confused me, startled me, and bugged me since day 1. End of story.
About me...do I regret buying my car, no, I love it. I wish there was a ton more aftermarket support though...I almost want to buy a 6th Gen Civic just so I can play with it...
And since when do gold medals become somehow mixed in with this...WEAK...plus the Canadians should have won it anyway, there's was better....
So why don't you take that bottle of "whine" of yours, and go spread some cheese for other people at a Suzuki site or something. And take that POS Samurai with you.
Wow! Through a straw, no less! Your creativity just keeps getting better with each successive post!
Actually, this is just a sure sign you got aced in the bung-hole. You come here whining about your car problems like a little fairy... hoping that other people will share your pain, but all you got was the support of one of your butt buddies.
If you can't handle the risk of facing certain problems that comes with car ownership (big or small), you shouldn't even be holding a driver's license.
Now go run off and play in your suzuki samurai like the little girlie-man that you are.
