I like the look of the solstice better. I was iffy about it till I saw one in person. And its understandable that a car thats been out for 15yrs is better than one that has been out for 1.
i think the new miata is way less "girlie" looking than the previous versions. i have to go take a test drive of the solstice, just to have a first hand perspective of both cars, but its honestly going to be tough to sway me from the mx-5.
when i drove the mx-5 at the zoom zoom event, i fell in love with it instantly. imagine the old miata driving character, but slightly grown up and refined...AND with a little more power.
the solstice is a great attempt, but i really don't think theyre targetting the same market. all the reviews say that the solstice is a sports car thats a cruiser. i dont think ive ever cruised in my miata. lol
dont you have the NA? i personally havent had any issues on long drives at constant speeds...i drove to VA beach this past summer (6 hour drive), i drive to boston fairly regualarly (3 hours)...and ive never been uncomfortable....especially with the top down.
maybe thats because the NB is a bit more roomy than the NA.
the NC is even MORE roomy and comfortable. yeah, it looks a ugly in photos, but in person its somehow different. lol i really like the look of it. the tails are a little to "altezza" for me...but besides that i think its a nice mix of styling cues from the NA, NB and the kabuki.
i gotta admit, thats the best damn looking "saturn" that theyve made since the brand started. lol
its funny how theyre the same exact car for the exception of the nose and ass...even the side markers are the same!
this is why GM is going bankrupt. they do stupid stuff like release the same exact car under 2 different brands that compete with eachother, rather than releasing ONE car under ONE brand that competes with other manufacturers...lol
im kind of curious why voxhall doesnt make the vx220. i mean, everyone loved it! it was built by lotus, based on the elise chassis. but they stopped production in 2005. and now rebadged it in the US as a saturn. if it didnt sell in europe, it wont sell here, ESPECIALLY with the saturn badge on it.
furthermore, the sky only looks like the vx220 on the outside. the chassis is different from the vx220. probably heavier. and when it comes to cars like these, for many buyers its more than just the way it looks.

yeah i have the NA. i'm thinking of swapping the seats out for something more comfortable. i hear the 2001-2005 seats are great. then again, some nice red bucket seats wouldnt look too bad in the white miata either.
