How stupid can some thieves get?

At my school, one of my classmates was talking about how she got a hit and run near the school but the cops couldn't investigate due to a car being broken into at the parking lot. So later, i get home and turn on the news. Turns out the thieves that broke into the car were later caught by the police. But what's really stupid is that they tried to sell what they stole on the same day at the same school. I wonder if there will be an article in the newspaper tomorrow about it. Just felt like sharing this information with ya'll because it was funny when i first saw it on the news.
