my phone motorola v300 has a usb, when i connect it, its becomes like another drive. so i just drag and drop the pics/files onto my pc. I didnt need a program

i have a SLVR that is unlocked and it did not come with any USB cord but it has the port. i can borrow a cord but where do you get this program?

i tryed torrents and they still didnt work, i even had my friend send me the program but it still didnt work, do these phones have like locks on them where it wont let you? someone told me that
