im planning to weld my muffler straight to the cat, only(for now)..but i dont know wat size pipe i should use...2.25 or 2.5? uhm would there be any difference? ive herd that 2.5 piping is too big and u can lose hp to it? if u get 2.5 piping, it would be louder than the 2.25 but would there be a big difference because im just piping from the muffler to the cat...
-thanks
sorry for the noobie question lol

dont know about these cars (just got mine) but with probe 2.0 I4, 2.25 was the best route cause 2.5 lost to much back pressure, and you lost all your lowend power. which our cars have no of as it is. 2.5 would prolly be the best for boost
2.25 is more than enough. that what i have and it's loud and i still have my cat. take off the cat and ur asking for china to hear you while u drive by around ur block.

no, i have straight pipes ffrom the cat all the way back and a high flow muffler. looks and sounds nice. get a free flow muffler to get a higher sound if u want, but too much noise is cheesy if u don't have the HP to back up the sound. lol.

2.5" piping would give more gain on top end but lose low end power. 2.25" piping wouldn't give as much gain as 2.5" on top end but you'll gain power on low & mid.
