i think people are forgetting that Honda's competition in this market already offers leather, hids, navi as options. I'm guessing the price will be simliar to a mazda 3 if you get the leather, navi, hid options. Honda is only tryin to match or top there competition and i'm all for it. I think its smart move for Honda. We're getting almost everything we asked for now, the only thing the si needs to do is become rwd lol.
If its too much then you can just buy a fit or jazz when they come out. The new civic seems like the only thing its retaining from the 7th gen is the name "Civic". I think this is what the 7th gen should've been. Better late then never i guess.

ok, i'm back again. not sure about all the ?'s you all have asked, but here goes. navi is an option. hids are 50/50 right now. they're working that option out. leather is an option. most everything is an option as of now. gauges aren't all digital and they don't get in your way. back seats do fold down. and they are weighing a couple different tire brands right now. and what i meant to say is that WE start building these in august and have the option to buy shortly after. brembo brakes are only on the si. and last but not least. ktune, if i don't know, you surely don't know. i am an assembly coordinator there and won't even let us have access to it yet. so that's all i have for now. if you all could do me one favor though, instead of speculating and guessing and makind false rumors, just ask me. i will tell you what i know. i think you all know that by now. later
Yeah man, the only stuff I know is what you post and any official posts. Everyone here is very greatful for all the information you give us. I just want to someone with real knowledge, you , to clarify things for us. So looking at that picture of the dash I drew, does it look anything like that? Especially the speedometer, is it like that? Well whenever you guys start pumping them out we will get our view of the Civic. From what ive seen, car makers usually start start selling the new model year at start of september. Like with the 05' rsx, they came out in the last days of august 04. For the brembo's on the Si, do you know if they are standard or part of an option package? Thanks again!!!
Honda says the new Civic Si will be 200hp i-VTEC. Does Honda want to drop Integra in the lineup or what? It will be on direct competition for each other.

"Special aerodynamic features include a full front and side aero kit, rear deck wing and a lower rear bumper diffuser with an integrated center exhaust system."
I'm guessing is going to be very close to 23-24K.[/quote]
Yeah i'm glad there giving us these kind of options though. I wonder if any of the honda execs read these boards? John Mendel said in his interview that he reads the TOV boards. Seems like a easy and cheap source of market research. At least thats what i would do if i were honda.

I think the Si is gonna be really expensive with all that stuff in it, closer to the accord price.
I think they realize that the market's changing. A lot of people dont go civic then to accord anymore. A lot of people like the size of a civic and dont want or need a bigger car, but still want the same features those cars offer. The 7thgen in its current form is itself a pretty big car. If you park next to a 3 series bimmer, you'll notice there almost the same size.
There changing the civic from a entry level honda to an alternative to an accord in my opinion. For the people that like small light cars, even the accords with all its safety features have started to become a little chubby.
To me it seems like there positioning the civic, similar to how altima is to maxima.

All models might be a bit more than they are now but not by much. Honda owns a sizeable portion of the market. If they price the Civic too high then they literally will price themselves out of the market they already doing so well in. And as can be seen by other new realtively new cars to the market like the Scion Tc, Cobalt and Neon SRT-4, they offer a big bang for the buck in performance/features. Either Honda competes or they lose. The big question will be how much more the Si will cost then the EX. The Acura Type-S costs 23.6k right now and there is NO way the Si will cost more than this. Other than the engine/tranny, im guessing that 90% of the remaining parts will be the same as the other civics. The engine has already been developed from the RSX so there was no additional cost to do this. Thus its gonna be cheaper for them to produce and remain competitive. Im guessing it will cost 21k as the cheapest and 23k as the max. So i'll hazard a guess that the msrp will be 21.9k And for that price my car will be sold as soon as the Si comes out so i can buy one.
hey all, it's me again. i apologize to ktune. i sounded like a d!ck and i shouldn't have. i haven't heard a base price for the car yet, but i'm assuming that it will be between 20-24 loaded. i think that it is well worth it. we ran the first assembled car today and it looks better than i thought. the 4 door is all we are going to building apparently, but even that is sweet. whoever drew the small pic of the dash has the navi part right, the rest is hard to explain or even draw a crappy picture of. it is nice looking though. i wish i could have it on my car now. the only thing i can say is that it looks like a tv screen the way the digital gauge part is. that's about all i can say right now, have to get up early and go look at my future car. 00 si. later all.
