You need to keep the updated pics in the first post for those of us that are too lazy to go searching through all the pages that will will become for pics. Also, when is it being unveiled, tomorrow or friday?
I will try to stay on it best I can, so that way I can link pics from any other threads or from websites once they appear.
Honda should make an srt-4 version of the civic. pump up the si alot more and sell it for 20k.
*shakes head in disapproval* First off "SRT" is a performance trim that Dodge uses, not Honda (which I hope you meant they should make something to compete with it, but they already do).
Secondly, what do you think the SiR (Si) is? It's a hopped up version of the Civic.
i found another picture, seems to be a back end. looks like a hatchback, not the traditional civic hatch tho, but more like the older late 80s accord or the TC or the integras, so it will feel more like a coupe than a minivan.
looks like a full glass top and an aggressive wing
^ ^ My friend just bought a TC yesterday, he will be so pissed if this new civic is more p i m p...
I wouldn't be worried about the 8th gen Civic outshining the 7th gen by leaps and bounds, remember it is still Honda's compact model. If anything, I think it'll compete, but not surpass the tC performance wise. They have the weight to rely on their name alone over a Scion.
If the new Civic (and SI for that matter) is something ala a RSX, it's going to reach the $20k+ range and Honda isn't going to have much to offer on the low-end.
I flippin' can't wait. Too bad that I am going to be at school, then work, so I won't be able to see anything till tomorrow night. If the specs are insane, the vp is gettin traded in in 07, when I can afford it.

Word is that the Fit is to come out this fall too. The fit is to fill the low end. Fully loaded Fit in Japan is about $15K, thats with a DOHC 1.5L I4, Smart Key, CVT and 45-50mpg on the freeway. Maybe the fit will be at the world introduction tomorrow too.
Might be old news from the January press conf from Detriots auto show but the next civic might be the safest compact car yet, just like the 7th gen in 2001.
"The new Civic, being introduced this fall, will feature anti-lock brakes, side curtain airbags, driver and passenger side airbags with Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS) technology and pedestrian safety features as standard equipment on all U.S. Civic models. In addition, the new Civic will utilize Honda's Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure for improved occupant protection and compatibility with larger vehicles in a collision, the first application of this technology in a compact-class vehicle."
