im thinking about now brining my ciivc in for the 15000 checkup thing, i already hvae 15300 on the car. i was wondering what i would need to do if i wanted to do the maintence myself? is it just changing the oil and air filter? And is it a bad idea not to bring it in for maitence? i know they do brake checks and alignment checks... i just dont feel like paying 250 bux for them to change my oil

Rep Power: 0 i dont know for sure..but if u change the oil yourself you have to some how get the maintence light to turn off..the maintenence light comes on whenever an oil change is coming up or needed

Rep Power: 304 My car has 75k miles on it and all i've done is oil changes and the airfilter. No problems whatsoever. All they really do is check and top off fluids and do alignments and balancing. When you get to like 60k I think they change tranny fluid and stuff like that. There are instructions in your car manual for turning off the maint. required light.

Rep Power: 387 at 15k just change your oil. When you get to 30k, lube your doors, change your air filter, tranny fluid change, coolant change, and check your microfilter (if you have one). Brake fluid might be good too.

Rep Power: 0 The maint required light turns off easy... I think you just turn the key on notch and then hold the mileage button down until that mo fo shuts off... mine comes on every 7,000 miles or 7,500... I took my car in for all the maintenence stuff till 75000 miles. That is when my warranty went out... NOw I will do it myself. It is my first new car and didn't want ANYTHING to go wrong... I was afraid if something went wrong they wouldn't help me out or fix my ride...

Rep Power: 296 i dont get why your dealership is charging you $250 for the 15k check. My dealership just charged me $65 and that was a waste of money. All they do at 15k, is change oil, rotate tires and inspect your brakes, alignment and air pressure in your tires. With just 15k everything should be ok on your car unless you abuse your car.
