Im not too sure if you guys can help me out but i need help. I got in my car the other day and the battery was dead, so i had someone jump the car and took it into the sears and they told me the battery was dead. I ended up spending like 80 dollars for everything new battery etc. Then i go to use my cd player and it wont work it says code. My boyfriend told me i need the code and he called the dealer but they want 80 bucks for code. Is there anyway i can get out of having to blow another 80, i know it sounds dumb but is there a way to cheat it... i mean its not like its a special cd player i dont understand its factory, but anyways any help is appreciated thanks guys
Nope it's not... Pop your hood There is a black electrical box where all the fuses are. Pop the lid and behind that lid there should be a sticker with a code. Try that code and it should work. Saved you 80 bux! Let me know if it works
i used to be a mechanic at an independent garage that delt with hondas and acuras. if i remember correctly there should be a sticker in your glove compartment or maybe its in the VIN number but if you can find a shop like that they can usually call the dealer find out for you. it will probably cost something but not $80.
you should have a card, my dealer wrote it inside my owners manual, and its on the inside of my glove box... i have an 04 vic sedan. my dealership said if i lost it it would only be 25 bucks to get the code. i could handle that, but 80 um.. no
There is also a honda site that my dealer had me create an acount on. It is hondas owener link thing. Its at www.ahm-ownerlink.com. Has all the info on my car such as maintanence and it even has the radio code for me. Maybe you could sign up. And it would have your code.
i lost my code and i went to the dealer and they offered to replace the hu because they did not have the code but opted to get a pioneer hu cuz i didnt feel like waiting another week to have my oem hu changed
they said once you lose it that the hu is useless and they will change it free of charge, some dealer keep records of codes...ask them

you can get the code if you have the hu serial number. the dealer just search a data base for it.
