Need Help with Caliper Sliding Pins

My 2002 has two different "caliper slide pins"; These are the actual bolts which the caliper bolts on to. They slide within the pad bracket. I removed these to replace all the grease, and to clean them up, and replace the little grease/dust boots which were a little torn, and now I forgot which one goes where. There is one perfectly round one, and one with 5 or six sides like a hex bolt or something. there has to be a reason they were made different, and I need to know if the round one goes towards the front of the car, or towards the rear of the car? Any ideas?

Thanks

there should only be one pin per caliper. The bottom part of the caliper just unbolts, then you can swing the caliper up to change the pads. then the caliper slides out of the bracket from the top if you are doing other work. Other then that, I am not sure what you are asking.

There are two pins which slide within the caliper bracket. When you remove the caliper completely from the car, the two sliders can be removed from the bracket also. They have black dust boots on them, and grease inside. One is perfectly round, and the other is kind of a hex shaped pin.

show me a pic man, because I only have one sliding pin per side. When you unbolt the caliper on the bottom nut from the bracket, you can flip it upwards, then you can pull the top part out of the bracket. that is the sliding pin. Maybe we are thinking of 2 different things. Pics would be great though.
