Ordered my rims this morning finally, but.....

I finally found a company in the US that has the rims I want in stock. White 17" SSR GT1's, so I placed my order for them this morning, with 205/40/17 Yokohama Paradas. 20 min after I place the order, the warhouse calls me back and say that they don't have them in stock, and they are waiting on a shipment from Japan, which should be here in a month.

So, I was all excited I was finally ordering them, cause I have the money for them now, but now I'm angry that I have to wait for them to get shipped in.

Now my only question, do I still order the 17's, or should I see if I can get 18's in white?

The 17's are $335.00 each, the tires are $105.00 each, don't know what the 18's would cost, or if they are available in white.

If you can, go with the 18's. The bigger the better. If I could go back, I would get 18's for my car. Plus your car is lowered so it will look even better!

18's IMO. But remember. 18" tires are more expensive. Only get them if you don't mind!

I just emailed them back to see if they have the 18's in stock, and if they even come in white. If they don't get back to me in the next few minutes, I'll call them up. I do know the tires are more expensive, but not much. Also, these are forged aluminum rims, 400% stronger than cast aluminum rims, which is why they are so expensive. Next to impossible to bend.

Those are the wheels I was looking to put on my White EX coupe. I think they look tight ! I was thinking about the silver, but I think the white looks bad @ss on a white car now. I look forward to seeing them installed on your ride !

Called them back, the guy is calling Japan for me, to see if the 18" size comes in white.

BAK - no way dude, don't get the GT1's, that would suck to have two 01's within 40 miles of each other with the same rims.

If you do get the GT1's get them in silver. Or get the Type C's, or maybe the Integrals, but not the GT1's, PLEEEEEASE!

Type C

Don't worry !!! I wouldn't do that to ya! I've also been looking at the new Enkei 5+. I've been kinda hesistant on getting new wheels because I'm worried about the ride quality. I had a sharp 5th gen Civic EX that I bought a set of Konig Tuners and the car rode worse than on the factory steels. I'm not into racing, but I want my car to ride and handle better than the factory setup. I was thinking a set of 16's, since the roads where I live are $hitty and I need the rubber to keep my wheels from getting flattened. The GT1's don't come in 16". Also an Eibach Pro-kit with the anti-roll kit (if it ever gets released), and a good set of shocks.

I'm waiting for Eibach to come out with their Sway bar also, and I'm waiting for Tokico to release their struts for our cars too.

Turns out SSR doesn't make the white GT1 in 18, only 16 and 17. So my original order is good to go, just got to wait for the boat to bring them.

Depends on your definition of "right size". If you are wanting to have a 17" rim/tire that matches the stock rim/tire diameter, then a person would want 205/45/17 or 215/45/17 tires. I personally prefer a lower profile tire, even if it does throw off my speedometer a couple more percentage points, so that's why I chose the 205/40/17 size.
