High gas prices: Are you sticking with Civic?

With the price of oil still climbing, it seems likely that gas prices will be on the rise. I had been thinking about another car, maybe an Accord, but now I don't know. I know the Accord has good mpg, but not as good as the Civic. Are high gas prices persuading anyone to hold on to their Civics? Nope, no hybrid for me, but I'll probably wait until at least next year before I get anything new.

As of right now, gas prices are dropping. But If I were you I would just stick with the civic, Most other cars get lower MPG. But also just drive less, that will save you money. Like everyone says, you gotta pay to play. I know that goes for expensive cars, but I still think it is the same for any car. You wanna car, you gotta pay for it. And that includes gas. Even with high gas prices, people will still pay it, gas is what gets the car going, without it, you wont be going anywhere.

It's the only reason I got a Civic. I had a fullsize 4x4 that got maybe 16MPG in the city. I was spending $80+ per month on gas. Now, I spend ~$15 a month. I'll keep this for at least another 3 years but, after that, I'll probably get another vette or maybe the CTS-V cadillac or a mercedes.

just cause he is a mod, doesnt mean he has to like his car. You become a mod based on how you present yourself on the boards. And he probably bought it for the same reasons everyone else bought there car, good gas mileage, cheap, reliable. and the list goes on.

there really arent many other cars out there in the civic price range that get good gas mileage. But I know I didnt buy my civic cause of the gas mileage. I bought it because It was all I could afford. It isnt what I wanted, but i cant complain.

Because at the time, I could no longer afford my Jeep Wrangler since I took it 4wheeling weekly and was constantly fixing it because of that. Also, gas prices were on the rise at the time and due to many engine mods, it was getting about 8 MPG; and I was making less money than I am now, so I bought the civic for economical reasons, and because it was the least ugly and crappy in it's price range.

All in all, i've found the civic to suck more and more the longer I have it. It's loud on the highway, creaks and rattles, has uncomfortable seats, and a leaking windshield that just can not be fixed for some reason. And it has tons of other problems like squeaky seats, loose panels, no stock rear camber adjustment, harsh suspension, etc etc. I'll probably never buy another Honda. German and American cars are soooo much better.

Civics have great MPG comparing with other cars, here in Puerto Rico, we have heavy traffic in Metropolitan Area, so the Gas doesn't last much in the tank, but comparing 250 miles per tank with the 2001 Pontiac Sunfire I had, I prefer the 325 per tank that my Civic gives me.

I remember when they did that for like a day, gas was $1. And the messed up thing was people would purposley drive around and waste gas just to get that deal.

I wish gas was that low again. But gas will never get down to $.50.
