Hello guys,
I'm gonna need to fix a couple of scratches on my car and the question is basically about "post-processing" : what do you use to polish painting to make it look as close to original as possible ? Would be nice to hear about any particular products and/or experiences.
Thanks a lot !

i recently put touch-up paint (got it from a dealership) on a scratch on my car. i found out later that the scratch was probly only through the clear-coat so i did not need to paint it--but thats beside the point.

i put too much paint on the scratch i think cause the whole area i painted is raised up a lot from the body. it looks like crap and im so pissed that i even bothered. also, the paint (it has the same color code as on my driver's side door sill) did not match--it is kinda purple compared to the rest of the paint, and my car is EBP.

i shoulda left the damn scratch there, cause it looks worse now with the purple paint blotch sittin there. i guess i probly did it wrong, so maybe you will have better luck.

No paint you buy premade in a bottle is an exact match; and the touch up paint isn't really a match either.

You can buy some touch-up paint (as well as any other Honda OE accessory and part) at www.handa-accessories.com. H and A sells touch-up paint for around $5 a bottle.

I only use touch up paint for rock chips.

And with 13.5k miles on my car in 5 months, you can bet I've got a few.

I wouldn't do scratches. Not unless they were big & deep. If they're really big & deep, you need to have that panel repainted.

Re: Touch Up Paint

It’s really good to know that your car’s engine is still well tuned n the problem is with its exterior. I will suggest you to get your car off the dents first n den get it repainted. For your car’s color selection I can suggest you a website from where I buy paints for my Lamborghini. It’s Car Paint I hope it’ll help u.
