around the 130mph mark. you'll be limited to that. there's that whole legal thing about a manufacturer being required to limit a car's speed to a speed = or less than the maximum speed rating on the OEM tires.
Thats a thats on the net!
There are no speed limiters on "most" cars.

^^^^I really don't think there is either I think that you would hit the rev limiter in 5th. I however am not going to try I get a bit nervous at around 120 in a civic LOL. I think that a auto tops out before the end of 4th however and I am not sure why??? Hmmm maybe there is a speed limiter. Oh well the fastest that I want to go is 110 or so in my car
hm, my old carbeurated escort had a rev limiter. so do crotch rockets that aren't EFI. but i dont know anything about your car so whatever works. lol
what year was your escort? and was it a coil-over ignition?
my 2000 Buell, non EFI has a rev-limiter due to a digital ignition.
my 1982 Celica, carbed, does not it has a anolog ignition.
engines with out computers, carbed, cap and rotor, or points ignition DO NOT HAVE REV-LIMITERS, they have RESTICTOR PLATES that limit the output of the engine by limiting the intake. you can still rev till a rod goes through the hood.
didnt your daddy teach you how to work on old school cars???
Well, it was about three days ago, and I was going 210 down the freeway in my bone stock '05 LX. I realized i was running out of room and decided to shut off the jet engines and deploy the chutes. The heat from the jet engines melted off my APC wing and euro tails. Then...........

i woke up.
The fastest ive gone in reality was like 117.9, eh, we'll just say 118 to make me an official "racer". (stock 5 speed LX.)
btw: no genuine honda parts were harmed by installing apc in the telling of this tale. ALL JDM FOR ME!
I hit 146mph at VIR (virgina international raceway) with my svt focus with a JRSC. I still had about 1000 rpms left.
Just to let you guys that will call bs there was a stock svt focus on the dyno that just did a speed run and hit 171mph at the rev limit.

uh yes there are.
federal law requires auto manufacturers to limit the cars to a speed lower than the maximum safe operating speed of their tires.
since the civic comes with H-rated tires from the factory, federal law requires honda to have the car speed limited by under 130mph (actual), the maximum safe operating speed of the tires.

lol nope he didnt, so that's why i'm learning as i read your posts.
Not very fast in the Civic, maybe 100 on the Florida Turnpike...In the M3, 170ish (no longer electronically limited) before I started to get really scared.

ive hit 123 in my sisters del sol si,,, shifting to 5th actualyl slows the car down , so fast it can go is redline 4th...
my old civic dx, i hit 124 with a new ecu...
my current car, all motor hit 148mph... i had about 500rpms left, but i didnt want to see how fast i could blow it... if i had the gearing for my turbo setup now, i would go into the 180+... but i dont so.... it pulls like mad at 140mph... pulls on my buddies 2001 ws6 with mods at 140... like hard... and we had his up to 168 and stopped...
ive had my moms stock civic ex 97 up to 123 i believe it was, either 123 or 117...
but im thinkgin about getting a ls tanny for it and large tires and getting it clocked....
hopefully into the 160-165 range shouldnt be hard..
