been to 130 plenty of times with no problems and have tickets to prove it
Ahhh... but your not stock, I was refering to a stock civic. Let me ask you this though, where your speeding tickets close to what your speedo was reading? I know it's hard to tell because the cop may have clocked you at 125 and you'r not sure if he cought you slowing down or not, I know that one from personal experience lol. I was clocked at 138, but the speedo said 169, and obivously that wasn't a civic.
it doesn't matter if he isn't stock. and remember, by stock, he means intake and exhaust.
a civic, stock or not, will not go over about 130-ish, due to the speed governor. unless you get your speed governor removed, that's simply the best you'll do, no matter how much hp you're pushing.

What is this governor everybody talks about? I know older civics didn't have anyform of governing other than the motors physical limits. Usually when a governor kick in the car pratically shuts down and timing is retarded to the point where the engine can not make enough power to maintain that speed, I never had anything like happen to me in my civic

federal law requires that any vehicle must be governed at a speed equal or lesser than it's maximum speed rating on the oem tires.
since the civic comes with H-rated tires from the factory, it must be governed around the 130-135mph mark. that's federal DOT law. period. end of story. if anyone tells you otherwise, take a running start, and kick them in the nuts.

So then I've got one of to option to do now... When did this law take effect, because on the civic's I'm refering to are of the 92-95 vintage, perhaps this law was not in affect yet, or 2. I've got some nut kicking to do.
