113 but my car shakes for some reason got scared of po-po but when i get my injen CAI i need to try again, but wish it would get cold again in H-Town(south of h-town that is)
car shakes for some reason (can someone explain)
right. and would this be because federeal DOT law doesn't apply to the civic?
again. because the OEM tires on the civic are speed rated at around 135mph, BY LAW THE VEHICLE MUST HAVE A SPEED LIMITER SET BELOW THAT SPEED.
how much more clear can i be on this?
If what you're saying is true, that would make my speedo 5-10mph off. I'm rollin on 205/40 17s which would indeed make my speedo inaccurrate but not by as much as what you're saying.
how fast have you guys gone in our 7thgen. ive had a hard time getting past 110, but ive gotten it to about 120 after flooring it for a few minutes, what about you guys?
i have had mine to 123...then had to slow down,,was catching up to traffic.2002 civic ex coupe...i would post pics but dont know how to resize them to fit,,,,if anyone knows how to resize please let me know??????

have your allignment checked or you might have a busted belt in one of your tires,,,,or if your car was previously wrecked and there was bad damage to the car that could cause it to shake too,,,,,,,i hope this might help you out.

well the question is this.
is the civic's speed limited by a governor on the indicated speed on the speedo.... or is it limited by a certain rev point in 5th gear.
if you saw 140 on your speedo, then it's probably limited by revs in 5th gear.
and you'd be amazed how off your speedo is up at those speeds. in a stock civic, if your speedo says 130mph, chances are you are only going about 121-125mph.
tires flex exponentially and directly in variation with the speed you are going, particularly as they reach their maximum speed rating. this causes a huge difference in indicated speed vs actual.
so yes, seeing as you have larger tires than stock, chances are at those speeds, your speedo is actually reading a good 15+mph OVER what you are ACTUALLY going.
