Originally posted by CuRiOuSfIsH the SR5... I think had about 100 or 95 or something like that.
I think that's pretty close. The 1990-91 models had fuel injection, and the SR5 had around 102hp while the 1991 GT-S had around 130 with its DOHC engine.
Actually had looked into a 91 GT-S as a daily driver so I can keep the miles on the STi low.
Hmmm. . . you got me on the FX16. I'm not sure if it's SOHC or DOHC. If it's DOHC that'd be the one I go for. Lighter than the coupe, and much more ninja in appearance.
Ya I was thinking of just going for a SR5, but if I could find a GT-S I'd hit that up. What you think would be better, older carb and no electronics or go for fuel injection?
fuel injection will give you more options. I think it's a good idea to look for more insight. There are many different Corolla engines during that time, obviously 4AGE was the most popular, but a good idea is finding a beater Corolla then slappin in a 5 valve engine from Japan only available in the AE111 (maybe AE101 but I doubt it b/c last time I checked under the hood of a AE101 4AGE from a relatives car in Asia, I didnt see it). Now here's a dilema. My cousin had a 90 Corolla, from outside appearance, it looks SOHC EFI. BUT under the head, is 1 cam sprocket rocking TWO cam shafts. Now isnt that interesting? It's like somewhere between SOHC and DOHC.
