it ain't that easy to just "import a R32" or any skyline for that matter. What people don't ususally know is that there's a big fee they charge to bring the cars into the US. They charge a thing called a conversion fee which is in the range of 15-20 thousand (addition to the price of the car and import fees). That's the reason why AE86 are so popular, besides the fact that it's an Initial D car.

^^^ actually they aren't that fast without heavy modification. they're very well balanced as far as drivetrain and suspension for drift and track purposes, but they are NOT fast.

There’s an authentic AE86 fever down here!!
You can’t get an old rusty, stock one with 120K mile on by less than 2500 euros (about 2000 – 2150$ )

A good shaped, stock one, can go up to over 5000 euro!!!
And if it was a Trueno, you would get even more!

AE86’s are totally overrated here, everyone wants one!!



Personally, It’s my favourite RWD lightweight coupe EVER!!!
I’ve driven a few and I tell you: In a track, if you enjoy drifting and a car with real good, total control, handling… there ain’t better!
And whatever... I think it is a really beauty... specially with a TRD body kit

I agree, they have such a well balanced suspension. I've seen a best motoring race where two of them rated at about 170hp beat a skyline gt-r in a 5 lap race.

hehe, but i'm not bringing it into US. In canada. there is a law. once a car is 15 years old you can import it without legalization. R32 GTRs are cheap here! there was a beat up one going for 10k CDN. but i don't want a beat up one. it had rust spots. But R32 GTRs aren't available till next fall. as thats when their 15 years old. The one i mentioned above just lets you buy the car and have it stored till it's legal then shipped over and registered. But all included in the price of 10k CDN. i want a nicer one however, and expect to pay about 20. there are already R31s driving around for low low prices. other JDM cars are available as well

Motorex imports the stock skyline for some ridiculous price like $55k. But they can build one up to be a R34 GT sick ass!!! The car has a computer that you can adjust the engine properties while driving.
