Civics are built around manuals. My friend had an automatic Civic. Good thing my girlfriend owned a manual one. I almost decided not to get a 'Vic based on the experience with the auto.
My past three vehicles have been manual transmissions. I can't see myself going back to automatic. What the heck do you do with your left foot and right hand?
your left foot usually hangs out the window and your right hand is scratching your ass or picking your nose. that or your left foot stays still and your driving using both hands and not trying to act gangsta
I'm more of a MANUAL guy myself. this 2002 civic Ex i got now is my very first car and it's manual. My brother tought me how to drive manual when i was in my teens. I'm 25 now. i've only had the car for a year now. i'd rather have a manual than auto. the tranny lasts longer from what i hear. and it costs less to fix when it breaks. I don't drive gangsta anyways. I CAN'T STAND THAT!. manual cars are more responsive but thats about it. I don't think that i'd EVER get sick of stick. stop and go traffic is fine with me. don't mind it. a manual is even more cooler when you put a V2 intake in there and hear it roar each gear!.
AUTO is good for eating while driving. or messing with your radio while driving. things like that. but you can do that when after you reach 5th OR 6th gear with a manual car. i don't reccomend eating while driving anyways. it messes up your car.

Reason: Automerged Doublepost
is it just me, or does anybody else feel a jerk from driving an auto when it upshifts? thats what happens to me wen i switch cars. yet i hardly feel anything when driving a manual
I find myself losing focus when driving friends/family cars with automatics. It's just not interactive enough to hold my attention. Just not as much fun. You can eat, drink, smoke and distract yourself just as easily on a manual-equipped car too.
I still love my manual....sure its slow with 17s and a system...but its still fun to drive. I got bored driving an auto, no feel for the car. Plus you can't do a good 2nd gear scratch when you feel the need (Did my 2nd and 3rd yesterday since I've had the car....over 2 years now, thats not too many, lol)
