Right now it's 66% to 33%...
2 out of every 3 owners prefer Manual
That general statement is most likely not true at all. The demographics of this website are completely different than the general populace - and this poll is definately not scientific. I'd be willing to bet that if a scientific study were done for the population at large, the numbers would be reversed.
It's important to remember where the data is being collected from when looking at statistics.
this kids right....this is mostly a "tuner" website so obviously most ppl would pick manual....and in the rest world most ppl would pick auto because there are more "women, old ppl and ppl who cant drive stick and non-tuners"
but what you forgot with your great argument.... is that this thread is in a "tuner" website asking which is better auto or manual.... obviously if your performance oriented im not even gonna begin to explain why manual is better period.
but wiht the new batch of fast and furious kids nowadays modding their civics, neons and sunfires alike.... auto seems to cut it...
it's ok though, sometimes when it's really traffic i wish my car was an auto for just 10 minutes... (sshh dont tell anyone though)
Bought an auto, I wanted a stick, but no one in the area had a manual, cept for 06's and didn't want to special order it. Next car will be manual (I keep saying that),
I wanted a stick, purchased a stick. I can't go back to auto trans. I mean, what the heck are you supposed to do with your left foot and right hand when you're driving? Auto trans. = passive driving, IMO.

Completely agree...plus I like having the lil power we have there when I want it (and not lost in the tranny)

Superior driving experience (yes, even in the city, stop using it as an excuse ), superior fuel economy, more power, more fun to drive.
I totally encourage anybody thinking about getting a manual trans., to get one. It takes about 5 hours to learn, and perhaps a few weeks to master, but you're able to control the machine, the machine controls you in an auto.
no way that an auto tranny would stand up with 10psi and a 50 shot, ive only done it once with the manual and not a good idea good think im getting a new clutch anyways.
I had an automatic RSX and that thing was a crime against cardom! it was painfully slow. a 16 second car. I sold it and got my 02 manual lx. I like driving that a lot more. most people think the RSX was cooler but honestly it's more important to me to drive manual than to drive something "cool." the worst part about the RSX was the disappointed look on peoples faces when they would get into my car and immediately be like "aww this shits an auto?" that pissed me off so much i just said screw it i wanted a manual so badly anyway. I came about THIS FREAKING close to getting a manual RSX 5 speed too. Oh the things i could have done differently had i known what i know today. oh well. I'm happy now. no worries
