Having owned a sport compact car with an automatic and it being on the 3rd transmission before I traded it in on my 04 Civic, I can only say I will never buy another Automatic FWD sport compact car again. They just don't hold up to the pressure of my heavy foot and my desire for autocrossing.
i dirve 150 miles a day... the car i had before the civic was a 1984 733i and it was automactic... i just way to layback.. my first car was a 1989 honda crx.. stick.. i loved it but wrecked it in 8 months.. now i have a 2001 ex and i thought of having a civc in auto.. there just no point to it .. if you a atuo.. give it to your moms or something... stick is better ..

You were going somewhere with this and it seemed you were about to make a point. Then you completely drop making a point and say "stick is better"
Did you just run out of time to make your point or forget what your point was?!
honestly i forget what i as saying cause im at work. sometimes i have to get up and go do something right of in the middle of a post.. i think what i as trying to say is there is no point in having a honda 4 cylinder engine in auto.. no respond in the car at all.. but a least with the stick i have way more control of the car.. from speeding up to slowing down. I just feel if you got a honda gotta be stick.. now if i spend about 60 to 80 grand on a car and it a luxuary car.. gotta be auto.. but and car that i want as a sports car ..stick all the way..
Nice response! I completely understand you being at work. Thats why I made the crack about running out of time.
I chose an automatic because honestly I did not know how to drive a stick well. I have driven a few vehicles that were stick and it just seemed like too much effort for long commutes.
once i learn how to drive a stick. i will get a car that is a stick. my car is a manual and its kinda slow. my friend and i have the same model cars EX his a stick and mine is manual and we raced his car was much faster. soon i'll be getting a stick. they are a lot more fun to drive.
