I have to drive in traffic all the time, stop and go, up and down hills... It's all worth it for those days when I can play road racer on our back roads containing many turns. To remove this ad, register today for free or log in if already registered!

hooray for manual. I know it's been said before but it is a pain in stop and go traffic.

Sure you get more consistanct 1/4 mile times... but you're ability to rev match and downshift before a corner is greatly diminished...

Between my fiance and I, we have a 97 auto CX hatch and 04 manual EX coupe. After having one automatic car at 16 (especially after learning how to drive manual in driver's ed), I swore I would never buy another again ...however, I paid LESS for my hatch 3 years ago than some people are paying today, so it was definetely worth the boredom!

At 103 whopping horsepower when I am more used to near 300 rwhp, I could really care less if I am driving a manual or auto. However, with the 127 VTEC engine on our EX coupe, it is actually a very fun car to draw out the revs! Definetely glad we opted for the manual in that car...it was very disappointing to see how hard it was to even track down a 5 speed EX coupe! Every single one, except the one we purchased, was an automatic! Manual trannys definetely seem to be a dying breed.

That is very unfortunate. Everyone should at least KNOW how to drive a manual, even if they do not opt to do so daily. Women especially! They do not know what they are missing

No long straight roads? I-10 Man! And don't even get me started on all the fun places on the westbank. As far as the granny's, I remember all of that, I just started driving at different times like 3am and such

I try to buy manual whenever possible.... More fun, more control, better gas mileage.

The only drawback is getting stuck in traffic and getting "sore clutch-knee."
