If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Be careful. Read the service information. Read the TSB information linked in post #2

Thanks ez one,
I read the post it helped a bit. I'm gonna have some old gear heads assisting I'll just do most of the work my main question is in rebuilding when I get the ball joint out(if all goes according) is it pressed to the knuckle or lac, I've seen were you can remove the knuckle then press out and press in the new ball joint but im not sure how it fastens to the lca

It's pressed into the knuckle, you should be able to see it in the effed up pics on the thread linked.
The tapered shaft fits into the LCA pointing down, and the nut threads on from the bottom.

Thanks man that was one of my main concerns I saw a method where you jack up the lca and wedge a wrench in then depress the jack to pop the ball joint out other than I 2ould just use the press it seems pretty straight forward, I wouldn't atempt it if I wasn't confidant
