Short block replacement. D to B?

Hello everyone!

I'm totally unfamiliar with civics (how all shitty noob post begin) my sister has a 96 civic DX. I believe the 1.6 liter D16Y7 engine. Well.. a connecting rod bearing seized. Being a nice brother, I told her I would help her get it back on the road. While researching used short blocks, my buddy mentioned he has an old (1994 I believe) del sol sitting on his side yard that was running good until it was rear ended. He welcomed me to all parts free of charge. Did a little more research and learned it has the B16A3 engine (also a 1.6 liter like the civic). Now I'm only interested in the short block. Is anyone familiar with both motors? Are these 2 short blocks potentially interchangeable? I would truly appreciate any information. Thanks all
