Rep Power: 0 EGR valve connector
Hi all,
2001 Honda Civic. I had the hood up to check the oil and found that the EGR valve was not connected so I "plugged it back in." Immediately on next drive, and ever since, the car started hesitating and lurching, not hard but frequently, while driving, as if it were going to stall, but it never does. It does not seem to lack power when accelerating, though. (I had that problem a year? or so ago. I don't recall what the mechanic did to solve it.)
Is it likely these issues are related?
Thanks

Re: EGR valve connector
You attached a random part and ever since you are having a problem. You could always unhook it again and see if the problem goes away. Sometimes the simplest method of diagnosing is in fact the best.

Re: EGR valve connector
-Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery for 20min.
-connect the EGR valve plug.
-reconnect the battery terminal.
-start the car.
-Do not touch the throttle or any other system while the car is warming up.
-the idle should start bouncing around, starting high around2000, then dropping lower.
-wait until the idle is holding stable.
This should reset the system to OEM spec.
