Thumbs down Bosch evolution Wipers?... Not worth the extra expense You Pay For.

I thought I would share my story with all of You out there, that buy the
more expensive type wiper blades thinking there going to Last a lot Longer
than the cheaper Less expensive ones. Think again. I Live in Ontario Canada
winters temp here ranges anywhere from -12 to extreme -15 on some
realy cold days I have always bought the cheaper 8- $10 wiper blades and
gotten anywhere from just over a Year to 2 Years out of them so 2 Years ago
I bought a pair of Bosch Evolution Wiper Blades total cost $60.00 tax in.

Less than 2 Years I inspect them and I find 2 small rips one on the far
right end of the wiper and another right in the middle..? on the same
wiper blade I will Never buy another set of these wipers again especially
after finding out there NON REFILABLE BLADES meaning I cant change the
rubber blades myself even though they look like they can be changed
I'm going back to cheap $10 wiper blades and saving my$$

We've been using PIAA silicon blades for years. I can't speak to the Bosch blades, but the PIAA blades are worth the extra money. Both cars are year round daily drivers, and are garaged every night.

I have the PIAA Super Silicone Wiper Blades on my 2010 Civic Si, they're 5 years old and will probably need to be replaced soon. They were about $40 a pair.

My wife has the PIAA Si Tech blades on her Subaru, they're 5 years old and going strong. They were about $50 per pair.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Nothing beats the life of the OEM replacements. Just make sure they have not been hiding in the back of the drawer for 5 years. Check that little date on them.

Fan of OEMs, but they seem a bit worse then past ones.

Where is the date you mention ??

Re: Bosch evolution Wipers?... Not worth the extra expense You Pay For.

I am pretty sure what is on my 07 Civic and 05 CRV (and also on my 04 Toyota and 2016 Subie are the same as what was on my 95 and 85 Civics. The low profile insert ones with the metal inserts in them. Interesting but some of those inserts are straight and some have an arch. Depending on model, the arch can go opposite directions on the drivers and passenger side. I have had them last 4 or 5 years on my garage kept cars.
Years ago, I was lucky to get more then a year out of aftermarket junk on my GM cars. They started squeaking and smearing in a year and if you pushed it, would actually start tearing on the ends.
The date is a small set of raised mold numbers. Not exactly how the system works but they appear to x out all but the latest date. I know when College Honda set me a set for all my cars, the Truck length is one they stock but must be off an old Honda. I questioned them about a real old date as compared to the others. They simple said, we will send you another set and sure enough, it had a much newer date. I do know molded rubber has a shelf life.
