Re: Portland

No worries mega... I may have them for awhile sitting in the garage.
The TYC's that Triz is selling are awesome. I've been running mine for more than a year and have had no issues. I love them. They even survived last winters crazy snow storms. My car had so much snow on it that it looked like a hatchback!
Good to know about the A6 hid's. I was concidering the BMW bosch hids at the suggestion of Gearbox. The Audi ones sound like an easier retrofit. No shroud mods, bolt right in, eh?

Re: Portland

Well, they are deeper so you have to pop the clear lense off the headlight and then hack away the backside of the headlight, and fix the projector to the housing- I'd use epoxy clay. That way you can run a single xenon headlight and have separate dedicated high beams instead of the bi-xenon projectors that just flip the cutoff shield up, not giving you a true flood-light-high-beam. My buddy did this retro back when he had his 01 civic, the headlights were SOOOO bright because the lenses smoke the competition. He now has a TSX with stock HID projectors and says they are much dimmer then his old setup. And apparently TSX projectors are better then S2k projectors from what I remember.

EDIT: pulled up the link for the epoxy clay my buddy used. It comes as two half pound sticks you kneed together and form however you want. It dries crazy hard. Hes re-fabbed parts to fix a few copiers and printers at his work (hes an IT head). I think this is the same kinda stuff they use on race engines too... but dont quote me. Point is, this is some seriously ridiculous stuff that wont ever break or crack on you. I think when the world is over, all the crap ppl made out of this stuff is what aliens are going to dig out of the ground a million years from now when they come to visit our planet.

Dad, I like the springs but I'd just like to get a full set of coilovers so I wont have to worry about much later on. I'll keep your springs in mind if I cant really afford to go with triz's set up.
What do you got to trade... any asian ladies? I'm pretty set in everything I need in life. I need small cheap random shit like an extra kayak paddle, and a tamper that will fit the stock portafilter basket in my Rancilio Silvia expresso machine. I could also use a standalone DVR or better yet a 4 or 6 channel video capture card that detects motion and records at 30fps. So yeah... How old is your sister?

Re: Portland

I was cleaning up the coils yesterday but had 2 asain girls stop by when I was in the middle of it. I ended up going to the liquor store with them and getting drunk downtown on the way to the blues fest. Stopped at carls jr for a spicy chicken sandwich- one of the ppl with us filled out the comment card and actually asked me what the date was... july 4th, duhhh. We all caught the fireworks- sat in the 2nd row. That was cool, but what wasnt cool is one of them had their bf meet up half way between it all and I'm like fuuuhhhhhk... Shit was kinda funny to me until I sobered up. The MAX ride back was ridiculous. I was stuck between two strollers butt fucking this arab guy till beaverton TC.

What'd yall do for the 4th?

Re: Portland

I haven't done blues fest since before I had kids. We closed off my street last night and had a block party with around 40-50 ppl. Blew up some kick-ass fireworks bought in the Couve. Lots of beer and a few hot women tossed in the mix. Only pissed off 1 neighbor. She was mad that her cars were covered with fallout from the morters. Fuckin' whah! She has a couple civics (g5 & g6) that haven't been washed since they were new. I keep trying to get her to sell me the 93HB that doen't run, but she won't sell it. Weird lady! Oh well, it's teal anyway.

Re: Portland

I kinda took this week off... not really. I didnt work for two days, then worked friday, weasled my way out of saturday, worked today (sunday), and work tomorrow (6a-1:30p), and off for two or three days. So yeah, its a break from work and all, but a shitty one at that.

While cleaning the coils, I've been painting my rims- I mean, my stealies. Black, gloss black. I dented my wheel in the winter in a parking lot covered in slushy goop and picked up a used one from AutoAdventure that has lots of used Honda parts already pulled (125 SE Clay St- If you havent already been for parts, I suggest you check them out). Got the front ones done- paints done curing from last week- mounted them and tire shine'd em. Flipped the car around and pulled the rears. Wire brushed them (drill attachment) and sprayed them with goo-gone. I'll take car of prepping them for paint after work tomorrow and probably prime em with two or three base coats and maybe a layer of color. Fun stuff.

Hmm, what the hell else is going on with me... (turning this into my personal blog since hulu doesnt have any new content to watch)... Yeah, I dunno. We should get together for a meet.. Ima be pulling my exhaust and race header soon- need to pass emissions next month.

Re: Portland

I was wondering about Auto Adventure. I am in desperate need of new rear brakes...So desperate, I am considering finding a base RSX and doing the 5-lug/rear disc swap. Rear drums are shitty and I refuse to even try to change them. On the way from Tillamook to Portland, coming down the hills my brakes were getting cooked to shit...so bad even touching the pedal made them vibrate to hell

Re: Portland

hahah forgot to mention this. Went out to eat for my friends birthday dinner Saturday and somehow twisted my knee. about 5 loud ass snaps and cracks come from my knee and then immediate swelling. Pretty sure i tore a tendon or so in my knee cause now I can't walk on it correctly. Which brings me to why I now cannot really meet up very soon. Left leg is fuxed so I can't even drive manual :'( hopefully in the next week or so I will be good enough to drive my car. For the time being i have to drive my moms f-150 :/

Re: Portland

Honder I have the exact same problem with my brakes. If I touch them while on the free way or going fast enough my steering wheel vibrates like a mo fo. I need to change up the pads to some hawk hps's.

Also, triz so far I have like 100 bucks in cash towards your coils. I'll be working out more money soon. Keep me posted on them

Re: Portland

Damn... Yeah I was looking at doing a rear disc swap for a long ass time (~2 years)... Cant find a 02-03 rear disc assembly from an EP3 to save my life. I've seen several crashed rsx's getting parted out. You can use the type s rear's, but need the base model's up front because the splines are the same as ours. If you do it and need help pulling the hub, I've been there and done that.

You can check part availability online (although it doesnt work in my browser, I'm using chrome with pop up blocker)- http://www.autoadventure.net/

Re: Portland

I'm in the same boat on the rear disks. I had found a site last month that had entire rear suspensions from Aussie market civics with the rear disks. It was like $130 for the whole thing. Just pull the parts you need, then recycle the rest of the metal. Of course, I can't find the page again. As soon as I can find the place, I'll post a link.
Auto adventure is pretty awesome. I check their site every coupla weeks or so.
I am definately down for a meet. I'm gonna be gone from about July 19th to the 1st of August. ROAD TRIP!!! I've so been needing a road trip.
