Idle Issue.

Having idle problems with a d15b7 motor. Dropped into a 95 EX coupe. What it does is rpms rev up and down (700-1400 rpms). Not everytime, but almost all the time. It's alright as long as I'm in gear. Only has issues while in park or neutral.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Re: Idle Issue.

SWAG: Vacuum leaks, IAC or FICV sticking open, low coolant level, IAC/FICV not getting good coolant flow......

Re: Idle Issue.

I checked all those and found out that the MAP sensor isn't even plugged in. I can't find even the plug on the wiring harness... Getting CEL code 3 and 6. Looks like I will have to wire it to the ECU.

Re: Idle Issue.

Could it be on the firewall?

I see a picture of a MAP sensor on a firewall next to the fuel filter but I can't tell what car it's in.

Re: Idle Issue.

That would be it. Usually it's located on the throttle body, but my engine and most the wiring is off a 92 so looks like it's on the firewall. I'm going to go to a wrecking yard and get a pigtail plug today and wire it in.
