lol i bought the kit then chopped it up in my car.lol i wired the two light grounds together then extended it to a switch in my car then grounded the switch. then i wired the two power wires together and put on a fuse and then straight into the battery. worked fine for me.

Re: does anyone know how to install fog lights

Are you wiring it to your lights or a separate switch? It sounds like you just need a lesson in how electricity works.

Re: does anyone know how to install fog lights

Does your car have an OEM foglight switch? You could pull the power from the headlights so anytime the headlights are on your fogs would come on, however you dont want to draw too much out of your headlights.. Use a spdt relay:

87: connect to battery 12+v (use fuse in line)
85: ground (-)
86: wire tapped into +12v from headlights (or any other positive switched source that you want your fogs to come on with)
30: connect this to your +12v wire going TO the fog lights..

Very easy to do, make sure you test all your wires.

I would also use this method instead of running just an on/off switch, this is safer and would allow more power to your lights (brighter)

There are a number of ways but I still need to know if you're going to connect it to a switch or to be automatic with your headlights/parklights.

Re: does anyone know how to install fog lights

the kit supplied me with a switch...but for some reason i tried to connect the connection end to the switch and it didnt want to fit in.
so im kinda skeptical if i should even use that switch....

Re: does anyone know how to install fog lights

Jesus Christ, this is my last attempt at helping you. Forget about what fits, if you want to use a switch, you can. Now would you rather have them on a switch or automated with your current lights?

The positives with the switch is they're only on if you want them on. The negatives if you hook it up wrong is they could stay on after you turn your car off and you might not notice, draining your battery.

Technically you could pull power from an ignition/accessory wire under the dash but he may be asking for more trouble lol

Not so much use it for power but you could use that power to click over a relay and get power from the relay, that would work. Or use an Add-A-Circuit to get power from the fuse panel. If I can get an answer I can write it up.

Re: does anyone know how to install fog lights

here's a basic wiring schematic.

the red 12vdc line is your choice. Choose one: hot at all times, hot when the car's on, hot when the parking lights are on, hot when the headlights are on. If you don't know what I mean by "hot" that means "live" as in, if connected to a ground, it will complete a 12VDC circuit.

Re: does anyone know how to install fog lights

i just used a metal saw. you know the ones that are kinda like a knife? it worked pretty damn well. i first drilled a hole then got to cutting. i'd drill holes in all four corners.

Re: does anyone know how to install fog lights

When I cut out the black part of my bumper to fit my intercooler, I used a dremel.. Not the cleanest work, but I didn't really care.

Re: does anyone know how to install fog lights

i think its a tight fit, like my horn sounds different now if you notice the horn harness is right by the left fog light so i think my fog light is hitting it and its not sounding the same...make sure your wires are all tucked in and the black plastic stuff under the car is also tucked in under the bumper
