Rep Power: 0 Vtec swapped for d15b7
I bought a 93 Honda Civic coupe and it idles really high. 1100 rpm and vin says it has a 1.6 crew but it rly has a d15b7 and a s20 transmission. I have a vaccuum line on the tbi that's just hanging with a bolt in it and I can't find a map sensor please help me if anyone can

Believe it or not I've done the same thing with one of my vacuum lines. It's just an easy way to plug a vacuum line that is not needed. Of course I am also running an after market Intake Manifold. Just over 1000 rpms is not too terribly high. It sounds like you might need to double check the timing. Even loosening the distributor and turning it slightly counter clockwise might do the trick. Your map sensor should be located right on top of the throttle body.

the car seems to be missing the whole harness for a map sensor is my main issue now I thought I could find it but no luck so far. But retarding the timing should help a bit right?

Every now and then I have heard of people relocating the map sensor and they usually attach it to the throttle body with a vacuum line. Also, every now and then I have seen it located on the firewall as shown in this link.
