Engine blew; replacement?

so long story short my '00 LX has a crack in the head so I'm looking at getting a new engine. it's stock engine is a D16Y7 (auto)

question 1: would putting a d16y8 in it be much different than a y7? If so what can I expect?

question 2: where can I find the best deals/ inventory regarding 6th gen engines

thanks for any help. If this is in the wrong place or violates any rules let me know and I'll fix it. Im a newbie around here
