96 honda civic trans and motor question

i have a 96 honda civic ex couple with the 1.6 sohc not vtec engine code d16y8 and the motor i was going to swap it with was a 1.6L d16a6 will this work? and will the automatic trans in the car bolt right up to the d16a6? thanks for your help.

IDK if it would bolt up or not.....but it seems like a big step backwards to me.

96 is not a 8/9th generation, sorry. yours is much older

nor this is a mechanical issue, so moving to correct section.
