Passenger window not working on 98 civic ex coupe
98 civic ex coupe
Passenger window would only roll up but not down. After messing with it further now it doesnt work at all.
1. child safety lock off
3. driver side window works
2. tried another motor and it rolled upwards like the old one. now both dont work after trying to fix problem. made it worse
3. fuses have power. not blown
4. switches have power at both windows.
5. tried a friend's switches and both did not roll the window up
6. motors move when 12v battery plugged to them
7. checked boot at door jam on passenger side and i dont
i have a test light and a multimeter. really need help in trying to get this fixed. i have a inspection coming up and i really need this fixed. thx

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

driver side door jam has wires coming out of the connector piece. looks like a mess. fml
not quite sure what to do at this point.

went to the salvage yard and grabbed a pigtail from another car. im going to clean out the connector but i dont think im going to rebuild it. is there anyway to prevent the wires from corroding any further? i heard someone said they put vaseline as a substitute. i might also put some electrical tape in there to prevent the wires from moving around.

I sometimes use dielectric silicone grease as a waterproofer
