i have a 00 civic dx with 150k
load tested the battery and found out it was junk.
replaced with spec battery
ever since i replaced the battery when i go to start the car the starter cuts in and out and eventually starts. however if they battery is drained a bit or sits over night in 20 degree weather the car starts flawlessly. once started the car always runs great. i never have any issues once so ever while driving or charging. it almost seems like the voltage is too much for the solenoid in the starter....is that possible?
teeth on flywheel are still present and in good condition
i tested the battery with a volt meter and load tester
checked every fuse in the book
i replaced the starter and made them bench test the new one for me
replaced the negative battery cable and tested it with a volt meter while starting
replaced the alternator also bench tested that
replaced and cleaned the ground strap to the chassis
cleaned up the contact on the main ignition relay
still the same choppy start.... but then runs great
new main relay?
new edu?
new ignition switch?
new harness?
wtf am i missing

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

What comes to mind:
The female spade terminal on the small starter wire.... See if it has worn out and has lost its ability to tightly grip the male terminal.
Does this have an automatic trans or manual?
