I was given a set of 17s for my civic with some 205/40r17s on them and just wanted to know if they'll run on my stock height 2000 civic ex coupe? I don't mind rubbing on turns just don't want full time rubbing also should I do a 203/35 r17 tire instead

205/40/17 sounds about right. You should not have any issues, but put them on and see.

Gotta watch out for the offset though.

I will try to bolt them on but they are all damaged tires so it will not give me correct feeling but what will the offset be like

Hey man I have some 17" wheels on my 97 civic w/ the exact same tires on them. I've blown out 5 rear tires in the past year (and 1 front tire from a pothole). I'm not 100% sure but I'm almost positive all 5 blew from rubbing on the frame. They don't rub all the time but every blowout was the inside of the tire all the way around. they never blow when I'm just driving in town but once I get on the high way from a 30 minute round trip one rear tire usually blows. I decided to play it safe and just bought a 15"x6.5" wheel.
