Rear seat troubles in '98 Civic Ex

I have a huge mouse and water leakage problem in my Civic Ex. I removed the rear seat to clean and investigate the mouse issue. The underside of the seat was soaked with water and had standing water after I pulled the seat up. I have cleaned everything up and am ready to put the seat back, however I lost the bolt that fastens the seat in the car. My question is: Will any 10 mm bolt work to fasten the seat back in the car? If I'm remembering correctly that it was a 10mm bolt. Thanks. P.s. I would also appreciate any tips to solve my water leakage problem in the backseat and trunk.

Yeah it will work as long as you have another 10mm bolt with same thread pitch.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

The bolt is usually 6mm dia. x 1.0 pitch, with a 10mm hex.

Seat is soaked?
Trunk and spare tire well are dry?
Look for wheelwell rust, floor rust, rear doors missing the vapor barriers, bodyshop evidence, seam sealant leaks around the rear window (rear glass been replaced? Does it say Honda on the logo?)
Remove seat and all surrounding trim and climb inside with a flashlight, have someone drive thru a car wash or soak it down with a hose while you look for leaks.

Clean it up, spray white powder all over...this should help show a trail of evidence wherever a leak is.
