2000 DX Hatchback Trunk Lock Problem

im having troubles with the hatch trunk locking system, theres no release hatch inside the car, theres only a key for the trunk on the out side and in the trunk these a lock tab thing you can pull up, when i use the key outside and attempt to open it i can get the tab inside to lift up but it doesnt unlock the trunk, the only way it works is if i go inside and lift the tab whiel someone else uses the key and opens it from the outside, and it takes a whiel you gotta get the perfect match for it to open. Anyways i want to move my sub and amp from my 97cx to my 00dx but i dont want to leave the trunk unlocked, but i want to be able to unlock it with ease, help would be appreciated

Re: 2000 DX Hatchback Trunk Lock Problem

Sorry man, I really don't have any good pics of how it works.
I can only guess that it sounds like you might need a latch assembly, or lock linkage is screwed up, or something.....

I have no idea how similar the hatch latch would be between the two cars, but can you check out how it works in your CX, then figure out what is different/wrong on the DX?
Swap all parts so you have a remote release on the DX?
