Birds in my clutch!

Not literally, but it sounds like it. I have a B16A2 with a Y80 Hydro tranny off of an Integra GSR and my clutch is reeeeeaaally noisy. Whenever I let off the clutch or just have the car out of gear with the clutch out it sounds like a bunch of birds all chirping together. The clutch will still engage and release fine, but this noise is annoying and embarrassing. Does anyone have an idea what could be causing it?

Re: Birds in my clutch!

Could it lead to problems until I can get in there and replace it?

It should be okay for a short while, but you should replace it soon.

Re: Birds in my clutch!

It can increase wear on your clutch/pressure plate, but you'd replace those anyway when you do the throw out bearing, so replacing isn't a big deal as long as long as you can get in and out of gear fine. I've been driving an old truck around with a noisy throw out bearing for a year now, it still does fine. (Just annoying)
